The Democrats have taken the senate, gaining at least 4 more seats to make it to a required 50 seat majority. This is the result of multiple historic wins across the country for democrats on multiple levels of government. Despite republicans spending money for races in states like Texas, Iowa, Alaska, Georgia, and Ohio, democrats have definitively won those seats from republican control.
The total of democratic seats gained is 52. The republicans have 40 seats with 8 seats undecided at this time. America will see whether the momentum democrats have will continue.
