ATLANTA — Keisha Lance Bottoms has won Georgia’s gubernatorial election, placing her at the helm of state government following a hard-fought campaign. She is the first Black female governor elected in the history of our country.
Bottoms will now begin the transition from candidate to governor-elect, assembling a team and outlining priorities for her administration. In the weeks ahead, attention will turn to her cabinet selections and plans for working with the state legislature.
The final certified results will offer a fuller picture of how voters across Georgia shaped the outcome.
